Before your next meal, here's some food for thought.

Half the world's hungry are in India,

The country's child malnutrition rates are among the highest in the world,

Around 35% of India's population consume less than 80% of the minimum food requirements.

As Freemasons, let's spare a thought for the hungry before we ourselves eat everyday.

And as a small measure of our commitment, let's lend a hand to...

A charitable project that involves brethren and their families.

As part of this initiative, every brother will contribute a handful of rice, wheat or anything the family may decide, which could be put into a bag every day.

Periodic collections will be made either by individual Lodges from its members or group of Lodges in a particular area or city.

The foodgrains collected will be directly distributed to destitutes, the poor or to institutions, as it won't involve centralized collection by the Grand Lodge of India.

Further, the project will involve 17000 brethren and their families across the country.

This will ensure that an immense number of hungry people are fed, even as the fraternity is richer and happier by this initiative.

So, won't you give a hand?
